Common Questions
Who is Expression for?
Anyone who is interested. This will be an event in which all expressions of worship are featured and displayed. There will be something for everyone whether you love art, are a business person, enjoy music and the performance arts…the list is endless. Come check Expression Florida out!
What exactly is a vendor?
A vendor is anyone who wants to display or sell their goods and/or services in the Vendor Area of Expression. Vendors include anyone in the arts, media, business, education, and justice arenas.
What is the difference between a vendor and performance artists?
Vendors will be assigned booth space to display items or goods they bring. Performance artists are those who have a talent they would like to perform (i.e., music, dance, mime, comedy, reciting poetry, etc.) on stage. These artists may not necessarily have product to display or sell. Performance artists who do have product to sell can either (1) rent booth space or (2) consign their product to the “Local Artist” Expression Booth.
Is there an age limit?
No. If younger artists have art or talents to display but do not wish to rent booth space, there are other options available: (1) Launch Pad Program and (2) Children’s Art Competition.
Is there a minimum number or years of experience required for the category I’m submitting art in?
No; however there is a screening process for all submitted art.
Do I need to have a business license?
You do not have to have a business license but you must adhere to the State of Florida Sales Tax and Federal income tax guidelines. Vendors are required to collect and pay sales tax. The information needed to obtain Florida sales tax forms is http://dor.myflorida.com/dor/taxes/sales_tax.html. The vendor is responsible for the sales tax on 100% of sales.
Do I need any other license of certification?
Only if the product or item you are selling/displaying require it.
What if I can’t be a vendor for the entire festival but would like to participate for one day?
Go ahead and submit all your materials; however, vendors/exhibitors who are able to participate all three days will be given priority. The application fee remains non-refundable.
I’m a cook. Do I need to bring my own appliances?
Yes. You must bring all your own equipment. Even if it is something as small as a microwave or as simple as ice. You will need to make plans to bring all items you will need with you. If you require equipment that needs additional voltage, you must indicate that on your application form and pay an additional fee for electricity of $35.
If I need additional items for my booth (i.e., chairs, tables, extension cord, etc.) can I use my own or do I have to rent these items from the Host Facility?
No. All additional items must be rented form the Host Facility to insure uniformity and excellence.
Will there be childcare?
